Listening Notes:
This work, in each of its three movements, is based upon the Anna Magdalena Bach song "Bist du bei Mir". The final movement, Apotheosis, in my setting, is the spiritual realization of the original song, as the Bach is quoted in full, with my own composed transitional elaborations connecting the succeeding phrases of the song.
